Keep it simple for busy doctors.
Starting from scratch, the first website for the the Sommer Memorial Lectures was put together in collaboration with a small handful of volunteer doctors.
The logo was created featuring the image of prominent physician Dr. Ernst August Sommer (1869-1936) is sophisticated and tells a story Portland’s medical community.
Capturing emails from attending doctors is critical to next year’s conference registration and there are two ways to capture their information, through a pop up form or form in the footer. The visually appealing website provides information in a straightforward and traditional website layout, making things a snap to find. A donation form accepts donations through a PayPal integration and hundreds of previous lecture series dates were transcribed and imported from a PDF booklet.
Moving from traditional mail-in registration to an online-only system, a corresponding postcard mailer was also created to notify Oregon and Washington doctors of the new site and (third party link) registration method.
Finally, email templates based on the website and postcard were also created for next year’s invitation as well as registration reminders.
Working with Anish and her team was a great experience. I knew nothing about website development when we started this project. They walked me through each decision and made it easy with great advice, professionalism, and flexibility. They went above and beyond what I expected, or could have hoped for, reaching out to our partners to coordinate links. The final result speaks for itself.
