What We Did
After having success selling premium pet products on Amazon, they came to us in the summer of 2017 with a fresh domain and website. We helped grow their digital marketing presence from the ground up.
Starting from scratch as an online-only ecommerce store, our team ensured King Duke’s was set up with proper tracking for site analytics and ecommerce revenue. We established a solid technical SEO foundation, optimizing site structure and making the site search engine-friendly. We deployed a targeted keyword strategy through product optimization and blogging aimed at bringing in passionate pet lovers and building up keyword rankings. When King Duke’s opened its physical doors to local pet owners in Beaverton, Oregon, we used citation work and local SEO tactics to build their digital presence in the area.
As we worked to send more relevant traffic to the site, we also focused on boosting the converting power of the site once kitty and puppy parents arrived there. Through user experience analysis and conversion rate optimization, we worked to move them further down the sales funnel by making it easier to find the products they wanted. We redesigned the homepage, updated navigation, optimized built-in Shopify features, improved the site search function, and continually refreshed site content.
When working with a brand new business online, SEO can take some time to build. To drive new sales while we were establishing organic presence and building credibility, we integrated our paid media strategy to get exposure on a quicker timeline.
King Duke’s didn’t have an existing Adwords account, so we started with a single keyword ad group model to run while we built out their extensive product shopping campaigns. Over the past two years we’ve put most of our energy into the shopping campaigns, using display ads and Google Ads to push specific holiday sales.
By optimizing their standalone website, we’ve helped King Duke’s reach more dog and cat people, increasing revenue and building their online brand. At first, we were able to bring in sales through fast-acting pay-per-click efforts, all the while building up organic credibility in search results. After 2 years of continued paid and organic work, we’ve grown revenue from all users by 195%.
King Duke’s believes in treating pets as family, and therefore is dedicated to hand (and paw) selecting only the best products for their customers. These are values we love (just ask our office dogs), and we are passionate about providing the highest-quality digital marketing services to help their business thrive.
