It doesn’t matter if you’re a large enterprise company, a small e-commerce startup or, a Mom-and-Pop shop, sometimes you need to ask for help. You Have Other Priorities

You may recognize that you have a digital marketing need, but your internal team is already strapped and focused on larger business objectives. If you want a team that can integrate with what you’re already doing and help you work toward common business objectives an agency may be right for you.

Digital Marketing is arguably one of the fastest changing industries, whether Google is adding a new service or Facebook is changing their algorithm, agencies make it their mission to stay on top of every platform. Take Google, for example every spring, they unleash a slew of big announcements. In 2017 they revealed 11 changes and new features. If you don’t have the time, or experience to roll with the changes, your digital marketing efforts may not be as effective or provide a profitable return on investment.

You’re Looking For Expertise

Agencies are typically comprised of teams that specialize in specific areas of digital marketing (PPC, SEO, Web Development). Instead of hiring a team of experts, strategists, and project managers, you may want to consider partnering with an digital marketing agency. If you’re goals are content related you’re going to need SEO, if you’re goals are e-commerce related, you’re going to need PPC, and if your goal is online awareness you will need both. Each of these services require different skills, with different strategies that without a wide breadth of knowledge, you will struggle to achieve your goals.

Hiring Your Own Staff Is Too Expensive

One of the many benefits of working with an agency is that you have access to a whole team of digital marketers, at a reasonable price. The cost of hiring new employees, paying their salaries and benefits can quickly add up. When you’re partnering with an agency, you can go into the process with the same expectations you have when you’re hiring a new team member. If you take the time to vet agencies (like you do a potential hire) you will likely enter into a beneficial partnership.

One tip is to match your company up with an agency that is similar in size. Typically the larger the agency, the more they will charge. So if you are a small business, match yourself up with an agency that is smaller. Not only will the costs usually be in your budget  range but often the agency, as a business of similar size, will have a better understanding of where you are at as a company, your goals, and even your struggles.

You Have To Be Realistic

You can’t do it all. No matter how passionate you are about your company, you will never be able to wear every hat to launch a successful marketing campaign AND keep your business running smoothly. Partnering with an agency may be exactly what you need to grow your business and meet your marketing goals.
